In Conversation with Dr Alex Dyer
Please provide a brief overview of your business or what you do within the company.
I am a cosmetic dentist specialising in composite bonding, Emax veneers, and clear aligner therapy, with a strong focus on smile makeovers that are both aesthetic and functional.
What I enjoy most is building strong, trusting relationships with my patients and helping them achieve the smile they’ve always dreamed of. I’m particularly drawn to complex cases—the more challenging, the better—as well as treating nervous and anxious patients. Watching someone’s anxiety transform into confidence is incredibly rewarding and is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my work.
What would you attribute as the main reason for your success?
My success comes down to two key things: passion for what I do and a completely patient-focused approach.
I am constantly looking for ways to improve, refine my skills, and push the boundaries of what’s possible using the latest digital dental technology. This allows me to take much of the anxiety out of dental treatment, reduce time spent in the chair, and deliver pain-free, predictable smile transformations. Seeing the impact this has on patients is what drives continued growth, and I genuinely look forward to every new case.
What has been the biggest challenge you have overcome?
One of the biggest challenges has been distinguishing ourselves in an increasingly competitive cosmetic dentistry market. Many practices now offer cosmetic treatments, but not all deliver the same level of quality, experience, or long-term outcomes.
A key part of this has been educating patients on the risks of seeking treatment abroad or with inexperienced clinicians and clearly demonstrating the benefits of our digital-led approach. By focusing on predictability, safety, and patient satisfaction, we’ve been able to stand apart and build trust in a crowded space.
What do you think made you stand out as a winner in the awards?
I believe what made me stand out was a combination of passion, attention to detail, and genuinely listening to what patients want. I care deeply about every case and every outcome, and that shows in both the results and the patient experience.
We are also at the cutting edge of dental technology, with our own in-house laboratory that is among the first in the UK to digitally design and 3D-print composite veneers with previously unseen accuracy. This allows us to deliver exceptional quality at an incredible price point, while maximising patient comfort and predictability—completely differentiating us from other practices.
What is the next big step for you?
The next big step is opening our doors to more patients by expanding into new locations. We currently have many patients travelling long distances to see us, and our goal is to make our approach to cosmetic dentistry more accessible by opening additional practices in new areas in the near future.
Would you recommend Business Awards UK to other businesses? If so, why?
Absolutely. Business Awards UK provides a credible platform that recognises genuine excellence, innovation, and dedication. Being acknowledged in this way is hugely rewarding and offers valuable exposure while celebrating the hard work that goes into building a successful business.
