The Little Gym Camberley

Behind the Win: Meet The Little Gym Camberley, 2026 Surrey Sports and Leisure Facility of the Year

The Little Gym Camberley won Sports and Leisure Facility of the Year for Surrey, in our Regional Business Awards. The award recognises a facility that welcomes more than 500 families each week and extends its work into local schools and the wider community.

Led by owner Amy Perkins, the gym offers developmental gymnastics for children aged four months to 12 years, alongside holiday camps, parties and events. Its school workshops, teacher training and free Baby Hub activities give families further ways to access support. We spoke with Marketing Director Lauren Sims about the work behind the award and the team’s plans to reach more children.

Please provide a brief overview of your business or what do you do within the company.

“The Little Gym Camberley provide developmental gymnastics classes, holiday camps, parties and events, for ages 4 months – 12 years. Their curriculum support children’s early development focusing on building strength, coordination, fine and gross motor skills. The gym serves over 500 families every week on site, plus supporting local schools through fundraising events, sponsorship, teacher training and motor skill workshops. The Little Gym is an exceptional facility for local families, run by Amy Perkins, mother of two. Amy is passionate about child development and the benefits of movement in the early years. She works tirelessly to create a nurturing, confidence-building environment where every child can thrive. Under Amy Perkins’ leadership, The Little Gym Camberley has become far more than a gymnastics centre, it is a valued community hub supporting the physical, social and emotional development of children across Surrey”

What would you attribute as the main reason for your success?

“The Little Gym Camberley’s Owner Amy’s passion for child development and family wellbeing is evident in every aspect of the business. As a mother herself, she understands the importance of creating spaces where children feel supported, celebrated and empowered to grow in confidence. Her hands-on leadership, dedication to excellence and genuine care for every family have earned The Little Gym Camberley an outstanding reputation throughout the area.”

What has been the biggest challenge you have overcome?

“Without a doubt the biggest challenge is managing to fit everything in! What sets The Little Gym Camberley apart is its unwavering commitment to community impact. Alongside its weekly classes, holiday camps, parties and events, the business actively supports local schools and families through fundraising initiatives, sponsorship opportunities, teacher training and motor skills workshops. These partnerships extend the benefits of early movement education beyond the gym itself and help strengthen the wider local community. The gym also provides free ‘Baby Hub’ activities such as infant feeding support, sleep consultancy, women’s health, mental health and wellbeing sessions.”
