Effective waste management protects people, preserves resources and finds practical value in materials that might otherwise be discarded. The 2026 Recycling and Waste Management Awards celebrate organisations achieving this through specialist knowledge, circular thinking, responsible operations and dependable service.
Our 2026 Recycling and Waste Management Awards Winners
Reliable service, responsible waste handling and sustained local growth have earned Super Skips Hire Ltd the title of Waste and Recycling Company of the Year. Serving customers across its surrounding region, the business has built its reputation through responsive communication and practical support from initial enquiry to collection. Its investment in vehicles, equipment and operational capacity has enabled it to grow while retaining the personal service of a locally focused business. By combining customer care with the use of responsible disposal and recycling routes, Super Skips demonstrates the rounded approach expected of an overall sector winner.
Managing asbestos safely requires specialist knowledge and control throughout the entire process, making Kovia Contracting a strong recipient of Excellence in Hazardous Waste Management. Supporting more than 1,000 clients, the business provides surveying, sampling, licensed removal, transport, disposal, consultancy and accredited training. Detailed risk assessments, controlled working methods and a documented chain of custody help ensure hazardous materials are managed responsibly from identification to final disposal. Kovia has also completed thousands of compliance projects without recording a RIDDOR-reportable incident since operations began in 2013, while its UKATA and BOHS training provision helps strengthen competence beyond its own workforce.
Circularity is built into the operating model at Modulaire Group, Winner of Best in Reuse and Repurposing. Its modular units are designed to be adapted, refurbished and redeployed, with each one capable of being reused 20 times or more and up to 96% recyclable. This keeps buildings, components and materials in productive use for longer while reducing demand for new resources. Since 2020, the Group has reduced waste sent to landfill per typical unit by 81%, while projects involving recovered flooring, timber, windows, workwear and modular structures show how repurposing is being applied across different countries and material streams.
Turning sewer arisings into usable construction material underpins the work recognised through Enviro-Clean receiving the Community Impact Award. Working with WGM and Scottish Water, the business used specialist processing equipment to separate, wash and dewater grit that would historically have been transported to landfill. The recovered material was then used as aggregate within new concrete roads and hardstanding. This approach achieved full diversion from landfill for the processed grit, reduced the need for truck movements and replaced a proportion of primary quarried aggregate. The result was a practical circular solution with benefits for local infrastructure, resource use and the surrounding environment.

Building Value Into Every Stage of Waste Management
This year’s Winners and Finalists show that progress in waste management takes many forms. It can mean controlling hazardous substances with care and traceability, designing assets for repeated use, recovering useful materials from difficult waste streams or providing a reliable local collection service that helps customers dispose of waste responsibly.
Across these achievements is a shared emphasis on keeping people safe, retaining resources for longer and improving how waste is handled in practice. Through technical expertise, operational investment and closer attention to the full material lifecycle, the organisations recognised by the Recycling and Waste Management Awards are helping make responsible waste management a routine part of better business.
